Our Story

D.R. Graybill Custom Homes is a construction company originating from a lifelong passion. In his early years of spending untold hours on the family farm’s carpentry shop, in the mid-70s, Dan had a youth passion for being the finest finish carpenter that he could become. Unlike others in his family, Dan always gravitated toward finish carpentry. Working with primitive hand tools, usually old and outdated, he strived to use what he had to build small projects- dog houses, toys, wood turnings, birdhouses, and later furniture and cabinets. By the age of 26, Dan had built two houses and countless projects, and owned a custom furniture and cabinet business which he named D.R. Graybill Fine Woodworks. It’s from this name that D.R. Graybill originated, simply by his initials. No catchy name is required when exceptional workmanship from the heart is the goal. Dan later created D.R. Graybill Services, a home renovation company. Through this work and watching the current housing market, he saw a need for affordable home building, and thus D.R. Graybill Custom Homes was born. D.R. Graybill Custom Homes’ desire is not only to provide the best possible home solutions for its customers, but also to help others learn a trade, discipline, and to excel in the trades, and life. Although we have labored in many of construction and renovation projects, the greatest satisfaction will always be in the positive impact we have on our employees, customers, and all whom we encounter. May we continue with a common goal of exceeding expectations.
